Letrozole

Letrozole, sold under the brand name Femara, is a type of medication known as an aromatase inhibitor.
Aromatase is an enzyme responsible for the conversion of androgens (male sex hormones) into estrogen
(female sex hormones), particularly in peripheral tissues like fat cells. Letrozole inhibits this enzymatic
activity, leading to decreased estrogen levels in the body.
